Hangar 18 Rancho Cucamonga – Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Gym #5 (good grief..) haha

Another great one! Tied for my favorite of the Hangar 18 locations — Between this one and Riverside.

The walls are plywood (woo!) But really rough (boo). The setting was great. Great mix of power and technical. The wall space is pretty limited, but they take full advantage and set a lot of really hard stuff.

Shoutout to @jonzalez_ for chatting with me and bringing me into the family! I’ve made a lifelong friend and climbing partner. I look forward to coming back and hitting up the rock around here with you! (And vice versa — you better be coming to climb on some southern sandstone) 😂

Overall I’ve been super pleased with what Hangar 18 has to offer. They certainly have locations all over and that helps, but it seems like they know what their customers want and don’t cater to just the lowest common denominator. I don’t expect a gym to exclusively set ‘hard’ and ostracize a lot of customers, but far too often I find gym will neglect anything passed v5-v6 and either set garbage or very view problems. Hangar 18 is probably 50/50 hard/easy which is great!
