Inner Peaks South End – Charlotte, NC

First day in Charlotte so of course I’m going to climb! This was a fun gym with a great community. I was there for about 2 hours and I’d say within 20 minutes I was already chatting with a few guys all working the same stuff. What a great feeling!

As for the gym itself — setting was solid and consistent, but the textured walls are still a negative from me 🤷‍♂️ will I go back? Of course! Not just because it’s the only gym within 30 minutes, but because the setting was well rounded with good hold selections. I didn’t feel like I was in a ‘mega-gym’. Especially not with the large amount of v6+ boulders. Probably at least 25-30% was hard climbing.

The major down side? Cost. The place is $70/mo (with no monthly plan unless you want to forfeit the $70 deposit you put down..) I’m only going to be in Charlotte for two months and forking over $105/mo is not something I’m interested in. .
The punch pass is an option, but at $160/10 it’s going to add up fast unless I go less often.. All in all a great gym with some things I would definitely change.
